Crucifixions into Resurrections
Dreams, God freely gives
Dreams, the only way to live
They shape you, they make you, they can try to break you
They will take you to places unknown
They will take you to places unshown
Dreams, the world desperately needs
Dreams, the broken and hungry desperately plead
Dreams of water, dreams of bread, dreams of shelter, of hopes unsaid
But we must decide, it’s harder than it seems
But without action they are just empty dreams
Dreams they will try to break you, they will even mock you, they will definitely shake you
For when you decide, delays will follow, problems will try to define you, quitting will stalk you
Delays, problems knock us to the ground
Yet it’s where character is forged and faith is found
Dreams, it’s where we find our breath, we find our voice, we find our faith, if we make the choice
Dreams are where...
Weariness is replaced by invigoration
Brokenness leads to regeneration
Our woundedness brings others inspiration
Confession becomes our liberation
Dreams, God freely gives
Dreams, the only way to live
They shape you, they make you, they can try to break you
They will take you to places unknown, producing a deeper FAITH They will take you to places unshown
You see, Jesus had a dream to set captives free, to save us from our sins, the year of jubilee
So HE made a decision to come to earth, giving up his rights, becoming fully human, not willing to fight
And his dream was postponed for 30 years, living as a carpenter, while the world was full of darkness and fears
Then for 3 years he served, taught, healed and loved
But Problems stalked him, religious leaders mocked him, his followers walked from him.
He prayed in the garden, “Father, I’m tempted to quit.”
Tears of blood while his disciples slept.
His heel struck the snake's head, then falsely arrested, betrayed by a kiss, while no one protested
A crooked trial, an innocent man, a violent death, while his best friends ran
It seemed the dream had reached a dead end
Darkness, earthquakes, evil celebrating for 2 days
Confusion, sadness, too much to comprehend
But the dream was not over, as dark as it seemed
Life broke through death, and through postponements and problems, came freedom and breath
For in a world full of chaos, darkness and persecution
Our God loves to turn crucifixions into resurrections
For GOD’S dreams will shape you, they will take you to place unknown
GOD’S dreams will make you, they will take you to places unshown.
